Bill Gates  is an American business magnate, software developer, investor, and philanthropist. He is best known as the co-founder Microsoft Corporation.

Early Life
Bill Gates was born on 28 October,1955 at Seattle in Washington. He was a National Merit Scholar when he graduated from Lakeside School in 1973.Gates wrote his first software program at the age of 13. In high school he helped form a group of programmers who computerized their school’s payroll system and founded Traf-O-Data, a company that sold traffic-counting systems to local governments. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT) and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973. He chose a pre-law major but took mathematics and graduate level computer science courses.With an IQ of 160, Gates is classified as a genius. He dropped out of Harvard University aged 20 and returned over 30 years later to be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 2007.Bill Gates says he dropped out of Harvard because he was scared of missing out on the personal computing revolution.The Harvard Crimson called him "Harvard's most successful dropout".

Family

He was the second child and only son of William Henry Gates Jr., a successful Seattle attorney, and Mary Maxwell, a former schoolteacher. Kristi, his older sister, later became his tax accountant and Libby, his younger sister, lives in Seattle raising her two children.
